The purpose of the Golden Key Scholarship Fund is to
foster and promote campus and sorority involvement and scholarship
through the granting of scholarships to
qualified female undergraduate students who belong to sororities
recognized by the National Panhellenic Conference,
the Panhellenic Council, or the Multicultural Greek Council at the University of Missouri-Columbia.The Golden Key Scholarship Fund does not discriminate on the basis of race,
creed, color, or national origin in granting scholarships.
Several $3,000
scholarships will be awarded in 2010!
Applicant
Qualifications
In order to qualify for
a GKSF scholarship, you must...
- Be
an initiated and active dues-paying member of a sorority recognized by the Office of Greek Life
at the University of Missouri
during the academic year to which the award would apply
(2010-2011).
- Have
achieved at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA with no grades of "F" as
confirmed by an official University of Missouri-Columbia transcript
- Be
classified as a full-time, undergraduate student
- Be
involved in campus and sorority
activities
- Have
completed at least 60 academic
hours by the beginning of the 2010 Fall semester, with a minimum of
30 of those academic hours completed at the University of
Missouri-Columbia
Applicant
Requirements Application
materials must be postmarked by Monday, March 1, 2010, and include the
following:
- Completed application,
including your statement of need
- Official University of Missouri-Columbia GPA
transcript (not a photocopy)
- Statement from Office of Student Aid
verifying assistance you are currently receiving
- Typed, one-page letter
of recommendation from a
University professor or University advisor on official letterhead that includes his/her name, address, and phone
number
- Statement from your chapter
president on sorority letterhead verifying that you are a member in good
standing and current in your financial obligations to your chapter
Please Note...
You
must be able to attend
an on-campus interview on Saturday, April 17, 2010.
You may download the application
as an Adobe PDF file. Complete, print and mail it with your official transcript, the statement from the Office of Student Aid,
the letter of recommendation
from your college professor, and the statement from your chapter
president via U.S. mail to the address below by the deadline date.
All
application
materials must be postmarked by Monday, March 1, 2010.
